Thursday's Thing

Window Shade - Miranda July
I subscribed to the very first four issues of THE THING when it launched in 2007 (San Fran HQ).   Basically, instead of subscribing e.g. to a magazine, you subscribe to receiving an objet d'art - quarterly.  The objects, created by artists, incorporate text and are pretty exciting to receive - secretly wrapped in their brown package.   It is still going strong today and you can subscribe to the latest issues here.   The shade above is the object from the very first issue in 2007!

Ok - I am completely obsessed with Fenton & Fenton (Melbourne based).  You have to check out these amazing pieces.  I love the styling above (by Julia Green), the simplicity of the pieces, the bright colours (those blue and yellow chandeliers are gorgeous) - it all screams energy, fun and mystery!  I want to jump into the pictures (a bit like Alice jumping through the looking glass) and live in there forever!    I am stalking the Fenton & Fenton blog and coveting just about everything they sell in this store!
Oh - and happy hump day!

·         Tickets to something. Anything. A plane. A show. A festival. A concert. An exhibition. A space.
·         Camera. I take a thousand photos. Boo is totally over it.

(In case my mum or dad ever read this, you were totally so assumed to be on the list I didn't need to list you. Or any of my friends)."

The Edible Kind
I like to consider myself quite an astute and observant person, however, it seems that I have been completely oblivious to the pineapple craze (the word almost needs a capital "P") that has "recently" taken over home decor.  Pineapple bookends, cushions, wallpaper, lanterns, door stoppers, vases, miscellaneous decorative pieces and even chandeliers.   The fact that this "pineappling" has been happening for months right under my nose and that it is particularly rife in my own neighbourhood is a huge blow to my ego!  Apparently, this pineapple trend is not new.  The pineapple has been a symbol of hospitality throughout history and a symbol that the man of the house was home -albeit briefly!  As I sit in my terrace, not a pineapple in sight (other than the edible type in my fridge) I wonder what other crazy things my neighbours are up to and whether I will eventually succumb to this pineapple craze and buy my very own (non-edible) pineapple!  Would you? Have you?

Monday Morning Malaise

I can barely operate or utter two words without a coffee in the morning!  Don't ask me how it happened, but I am well and truly dependant on coffee to turn me into a human in the morning.  Found this genius app over the weekend - by Illycoffee Illy Locator. It helps you find the nearest cafĂ© or espresso bar brewing Illy coffee!

After a weekend of wind, rain and generally doing nothing but relaxing, tomorrow is the start of another chaotic work week.   Happy Monday Eve!

Rainy Weekend!

Loving the rain this weekend.  Gave my Hunter boots a work out this morning and plan on spending the rest of the weekend doing a heap of things indoors (reading, watching movies and surfing the net) without feeling guilty about not being out and about socialising!
