I like to consider myself quite an astute and observant person, however, it seems that I have been completely oblivious to the pineapple craze (the word almost needs a capital "P") that has "recently" taken over home decor.  Pineapple bookends, cushions, wallpaper, lanterns, door stoppers, vases, miscellaneous decorative pieces and even chandeliers.   The fact that this "pineappling" has been happening for months right under my nose and that it is particularly rife in my own neighbourhood is a huge blow to my ego!  Apparently, this pineapple trend is not new.  The pineapple has been a symbol of hospitality throughout history and a symbol that the man of the house was home -albeit briefly!  As I sit in my terrace, not a pineapple in sight (other than the edible type in my fridge) I wonder what other crazy things my neighbours are up to and whether I will eventually succumb to this pineapple craze and buy my very own (non-edible) pineapple!  Would you? Have you?
