WTF

Heard of SNURK?  They're a firm from Amsterdam and they have designed a soft cotton, high quality duvet cover with photographs of cardboard boxes on it, it's called Le Clochard (French for bum/begger).  Why?  To remind us all of the plight of the homeless!  That's the line they're taking.  There is something that doesn't sit quite right with me thinking that I should take a moment to consider the plight of the homeless (freezing through winter nights) whilst sitting amongst all the privileges of life and snuggling under a high quality duvet which looks like (but is far from) a cardboard box.  What?  After a bit of digging on the net, it turns out there has been some controversy surrounding this design.  What do you think? 



Ok, this is a creepy WTF!  It has a name - forniphilia ("a form of bondage and sexual objectification in which a person's body is incorporated into a chair, table, cabinet or other piece of furniture").  British sculptor Allen Jones is the artist.  All of this craziness and objectification went down in the 70s and suffice to say that Mr Jones is not very popular amongst the feminists.   I don't really know whether to laugh or get angry.  What do you think?

Coincidentally, two of my WTF moments this week related to foot wear.  I wouldn't necessarily call the below shoes.  Would you?



There is NOTHING practical about these!  I'm up for giving them a go though.  I just need to find an outfit to match!

I have officially seen it all!  Grass flip flops! WTF?  Gives new meaning to feeling the grass between your toes.   I'm not going near these!  But if you're into it - check them out here.

Meat for vegetarians?   What would you do with this?



The singing toothbrush.  It comes with speakers.  The brush (lady gaga - how fitting) plays 2 songs - one for brushing in the morning (Bad Romance) and one for night (Born This Way). Each song plays for the dentist recommended 2 minutes. 

Friday

There are some weeks that you just want to run away from as fast as possible.  I don't know about you, but this is where I'm at.  It has been a tough week, at work and at home and I am sprinting through today and into the weekend.   I'm counting the minutes to the end of play today.  Have a wonderful, restful weekend and to quote a friend "be kind to yourself".

I love a wine decanter as much as the next wine drinker (in fact we have 3 in our house which The Boyfriend loves to use).   But this little number, by Etienne Meneau looks like it will do nothing but slow the process of getting that wine from the bottle and onto my palate! What do you think, would you buy one?

Celine is my weakness.  But when I came across these Celine shoes for SS13, let's just say I did a triple take.   My initial thoughts included: shoes are supposed to cover your feet and Sesame Street.  I have nothing more to say.  Over to you.
